Educational Grant 2026: Beyond Antibiotics – Preventive Strategies That Lower the Need for Antibiotic Use
Calling professionals from all fields: propose impactful solutions to fight antibiotic resistance. Apply by April 30th for a grant!
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) remains one of the most urgent global health challenges, with the World Health Organization identifying it as a top ten public health threat. As pathogens become resistant to antibiotics, infections grow harder and more costly to treat, placing modern healthcare and routine medical procedures at risk. Preventing infections and reducing unnecessary antibiotic use is therefore one of the most effective strategies to safeguard long-term treatment efficacy.
The PAR Foundation has championed a prevention-first approach since 2017, supporting initiatives ranging from community-based infection reduction programs and innovative educational tools to interdisciplinary public health collaborations. For 2026, the Foundation is prioritising education-focused projects that empower behaviour change and strengthen prevention literacy to lower antibiotic demand.
We welcome applications for initiatives that:
Increase awareness and understanding of AMR and effective prevention strategies.
Promote infection prevention practices, including hygiene, vaccination, and stewardship behaviours.
Employ innovative education models, such as digital platforms, VR, gaming, peer-learning networks, and media campaigns.
Address cultural drivers, misinformation, and misuse of antibiotics.
Target key populations, including youth, healthcare students, practitioners, caregivers, rural communities, and marginalised groups.
Competitive proposals will demonstrate how education directly translates into measurable reductions in behaviours that drive antibiotic overuse. We particularly encourage projects that are innovative, scalable, and capable of creating meaningful impact across communities.
Application Deadline: April 30th, 2026
